Description

In this 2-day workshop, instructors Mitch Iburg and Zoë Powell will guide participants through the process of creating hand-built spherical vessels. By emphasizing approaches to refining form and achieving greater textural variation, participants will gain skills for greater control and expression with clay. Students will have the option to incorporate sand, grog, and other aggregates to improve clay body strength and visual qualities.

During the class, participants can expect to create 2 spherical vessels, up to 8" each.

Add-Ons

Attendees can either bring their personal tools or purchase a tool kit from the Dusted and Blue shop. A list of recommended tools to bring will be e-mailed to you before the workshop.

Workshop tuition includes clay and bisque firing of all pieces. For an additional fee, Dusted and Blue can offer to glaze and glaze fire pieces on the attendees' behalf.

If traveling from out of town, students can plan to pick up bisque pieces within 4 days after the workshop is complete. For an extra fee, Dusted and Blue can ship work for those who are traveling. Please email friends@dustedandblue.com to arrange shipping.
